There's not really a place for this here, but I had to post it because it's frickin' awesome. A live specimen of the ancient Frilled Shark was seen off the coast of Japan recently - it appeared to be unhealthy, so it was captured and brought to a seawater pool at Awashima Marine Park - then, of course, filmed for your viewing and "Aw-cool"-inspiring pleasure.
It's a rare find, as they typically hang out at 1,000 meters or so - too deep for people to go. This shark has changed very little since prehistoric times, and is often referenced as a "living fossil".
And it looks awesome.
